Three Kings Day

One can tell what celebration day is coming up when you walk through the doors on our local supermarket. We were shopping several days ago and this was what we saw immediately after entering the store, stacks and stacks of Rosca de Reyes.

Lots of chances of finding something in your piece as it says, “Includes 3 plastic dolls, Includes 1 crown. It may also mean more tamales on Día de la Candelaria. Surprisingly enough with all the travel we do, we had never been aware of this tradition which is such an important part of the local culture, but then again we are hardly ever at our RV lot at this time of the year. Seeing something different in the store, then searching for it on the internet and now I know something new. It proves the saying, “You’re never too old to learn something new.”

She Likes It

Ever since we returned to the USA after being infected with Covid while in Tunisia, I have fixed my wife’s breakfast. They say practice makes perfect and it would appear I have reached that point, at least as far as she is concerned. A near perfect baby spinach, portabella mushroom and Oaxaca cheese omelet with a sweet red pepper and a rice cake with peanut butter have her off to a great start everyday. Fifty-six years ago tonight I met her for the first time on a blind date and I cannot imagine my Life without her.

Cleaning the Dyson V10 Cyclone Filter

We absolutely love our Dyson vacuum cleaners, so much so that we have one for the 5th wheel RV and Coach House and another that stays in Sophie, our travel RV. When the V10’s filter light came on it was time to go to YouTube and look up what to do. Discovered it mean the small removeable filter for the motor clogged. A quick twist and pull and it was off. We had never cleaned it since we bought it, and it obviously past time.

A quick rinse under cold running water and was looking just like new. Left it set for a day to completely dry, reinstalled it in a couple of seconds and the Dyson was once again good to go. We’ve owned a number of vacuums over the years and simply put, nothing comes close to being as efficient and useful as our Dysons. Expensive? Sure, but more than worth it.

A Little Light Makes a Big Improvement

A Christmas scene we kept when we cleaned out my mothers house.

None of the buildings were lighted, but this year I decided that it woild look much better if the little white church was lighted up.

A short piece of led strip lights hot melt glued in and the entire scene was transformed. Sometimes even the seemingly most minor of things can make a big difference.

The Sunset Last Night Was A Delight

With the warmer temperatures we are sitting outside in the evening. Last evening we could only marvel at the wonder of it all as nature put on an awesome light show.
