Frontier Village Jamestown, North Dakota

A free outdoor museum showing what life in the old days was like in the old days.

It’s a peaceful easy felling kind of place.

The good old days at least pricewise.

Not your usual TV/Movie western jail cell.

Where the respectable citizens congregated on Sunday mornings.

Then there was the less respectable element. We’ve see this same epitaph in other locations during our travels over the years, but it always seems to generate a chuckle.

The Dacotah Museum

Small but very interesting museum in Aberdeen, South Dakota.

Community Theater is Great

Theater

When ever we are in a town over the weekend we check to see if there might be a community theater performance. In Mitchell, South Dakota we were lucky. Back in our former life before quitting our jobs and traveling fulltime in an RV, we always had season tickets to the local professional theater. Other than the last two years due to Covid, we have spent several weeks a year in London seeing many of the wonderful plays available in the West End. Simply put, we really like live theater.

theater program

65 years ago this play premiered on television and the years haven’t diminished it on bit. It is amazing the talent that can be found in small towns. For us it was a Sunday afternoon very well spent. And the fact our seats were in the third row made it even better.
