London to Frankfurt to Bacharach

October 12, 2022 Travel day when things went mostly right for a change and ended with a very nice meal in a small town on the Rhine we have stayed in several times in the past.

Ugh! Never again will I so over pack my electronics.

When we leave early ion the morning I don’t always hold the camera steady enough. That is Linda standing in front of our apartment door. We will definitely be staying here if it is available the next time we are in London.

We try to time our travels to avoid the rush hour mobs. Holborn Underground station was definitely not crowed when we headed down the upper escalator to the Piccadilly line.

We arrived at Heathrow about 40 minutes before we could self check our luggage. It is an airport done right with plenty of seating in the check-in area.

They have imposed a passenger limit of 200,000 passengers per day, so no long lines any where.

Sneak selfie.

That beautiful girl I married caught me taking that previous selfie, so here is “our” selfie.

We again flew British Airways using our coupons from several years ago .

The British call then crisps, but whether crisps or chips they are the best darned potato chips ever.

Back to Frankfurt.

Waiting at the regional train station at the airport.

27 for both of us to travel to Bacharach. However as we waited they kept changing the time when out rain, the RE2, would arrive. For some reason many of the trains were running late today, which is a rare occurrence in Germany.

Nothing like having a room with a balcony and a castle on the hill above.

The hostas made me think of my cousin Steve. Love ya cuz!

Tried something different for dinner tonight. Have to say that Armenian food is great.

A good but not great wine.

Mine.

Her pork bratwurst. She’s come a long ways concerning what she will eat over the years and our traveling to many different countries. I have to believe it because the restaurant meals are always so much better once or outside the US.

Our hotel is just off the town square to the right. We are looking forward to the next four days and all the fantastic and inexpensive Rieslings we can drink, and not in glasses, in bottles! Life just doesn’t get better than this.
