The Last Should Have Been The First
When recently checking on our travel RV, Sophie, we discovered the AC power had gone out. The breaker seemed to be okay which suggested the problem was ether the power cord, the surge protector, the transfer switch or something else.
Checking the power cord with a multi-tester showed it had mor problems.
That made me think the problem was the surge protector or transfer switch because after plugging the power cord back into the power pedestal there was still nor power to the RV as evidenced by the remote display not showing any readout.
After taking the many screws out to access the suspected culprits, it occurred to me that maybe the real problem was the 30 amp outlet itself. It turned out that was the case and later we learned from the people owning the nearby RV lots there had only ever been 50 amp RVs parked there. We are currently using a 50 amp to 30 amp adapter in the 50 amp outlet and all is well.
A New Faucet
We never liked the old style faucets they typically installed in the bathrooms which were so low and close to the edge of the sink you could barely get your hands under them. The faucet in the coach house on our other lot was barely working so we replaced it with a new higher rise one with a popup sink drain. Both are a vast improvement over the old ones.
A New Service From Amazon?
Ordered a new Samsung SSD portable drive from Amazon. It arrived with the box partially smashed.
Because we travel so much I wanted one that had good drop and water resistance. I just didn’t expect Amazon to test just how well the SSD lived up to its specs. Note the crushed corner of the box. If it had been a regular SSD I would have returned it. So far this one is working great.
Luckily, It Was a Quick Fix
An air conditioner that doesn’t cool very well is not a good thing where we live.
This was the first time in 12 years the AC/heat pump unit needed pound of R-410A. Not bad for something that basically runs 24 hours a day year year around.
